OUR PROCESS

Discover How Our Solutions Work

How It Works

  • The placed candidate is directly hired by the client for a long-term, indefinite need, and is on their payroll and benefits.
  • Client pays Career Movement a placement fee based on a percentage of the candidate’s compensation when they start.
  • Usually, top-performing candidates are employed, and only leave one direct-hire position for another direct-hire position, as contract-to-hire or contract only do not demonstrate enough of a commitment and stability from the new company. Even if a candidate is not currently employed, if other employers are offering direct hire, then employers who are not will be putting themselves at a disadvantage in a competitive hiring climate.
  • If a client is simply worried about someone “working out,” don’t worry: Career Movement offers a guarantee period on all placements that are direct hire from the outset.
  • Initially, the placed candidate is not directly hired by the client, even if the client has a long-term, indefinite need for the candidate’s services. Instead, the candidate’s employment is coordinated by Career Movement via a third-party that administers the candidate’s payroll and benefits. The third-party will then invoice the client for reimbursement of candidate’s pay, applicable taxes, servicing fees, and recruiting fees for every hour that the candidate works.
  • The initial contract period may either be fixed in length from the outset, or open-ended. Regardless, once the candidate has been converted to a direct hire, client will then owe a placement fee directly to Career Movement based on a percentage of the candidate’s compensation when they convert.
  • Ultimately, due to the various servicing costs and risks inherent with employing someone for someone else, a Contract-to-Hire solution is always going to cost a client more than if they were to simply do a direct hire from the outset.
  • Usually, top-performing candidates are employed; and, generally, they will only leave one direct-hire position for another direct-hire position, as contract-to-hire or contract only do not demonstrate enough of a commitment and/or stability from the new company. Even if a candidate is not currently employed, if other employers are offering direct hire, then employers who are not will be putting themselves at a disadvantage in a competitive hiring climate. Simply put, offering contract-to-hire may significantly reduce the quantity and quality of candidates who will consider your open position.
  • Having said all this, Career Movement offers Direct Hire, Contract-to-Hire, and Contract Solutions.
  • The placed candidate’s services are retained by the client with the understanding that the term will not be indefinite. This is a good solution for project work, leave of absence, or other short-term and/or finite needs.
  • The candidate’s employment is coordinated by Career Movement via a third-party that administers the candidate’s payroll and benefits. The third-party will then invoice the client for reimbursement of candidate’s pay, applicable taxes, servicing fees, and recruiting fees for every hour that the candidate works.
  • If, at any point, the client’s need or disposition changes, and both the client and candidate can agree that the candidate shall be converted to a direct-hire employee, then Career Movement can facilitate this conversion. The client will simply owe a placement fee directly to Career Movement based on a percentage of the candidate’s compensation when they convert. Please see the “Contract-to-Hire” section for more details.
