POSITION OVERVIEW:

A Network / Systems Administrator Level 2 at ProSearch supports designs, maintains and
monitors internal and external networks. Implements, manages and supports all network systems, security and
configurations. Resolves network performance issues and establishes a disaster recovery plan. Recommends upgrades,
updates and new applications and equipment.
Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Installs updates and performs
system backups and recovery. Monitors system configuration and maintains data files. Manages user account
information, including rights, security and systems groups. Relies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve
goals. Reports to Director of IT. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to facilitate a timely resolution. Significant
ingenuity and flexibility are expected. May require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of relevant
experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist end users, supervisors and managers in resolving network issues and preventing reoccurrences

• Maintain integrity of network and security

• Ability to identify and recommend long term network growth and capabilities

• Walk ups, telephone calls, email communication and service tickets

• Diagnose problems and performs troubleshooting activities

• Identify and resolve network performance issues

• Document, track and monitor the problem to facilitate a timely resolution

• Develop long term solutions for day to day issues

• Able to formulate and follow projects to completion

• Rely on knowledge and professional discretion to perform daily job functions

• If professional discretion dictates an escalation, provide senior support with all prior troubleshooting steps

• Assist end users in resolving hardware and software issues

• Ensuring timely resolution or escalation while communication promptly on progress

• Create a positive customer support experience

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):

• 4 – 6 years’ experience and/or associates degree in related area

• Working knowledge of office equipment (copiers, fax, printers, etc.) and general office operations

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Strong Internet researching skills

• Multiple certifications in network technologies (e.g. Cisco, Force10, HP, etc.)

• Professional, pleasant and patient in demeanor

• Help reinforce image and professionalism of the IT Services team and ProSearch through polished
professional communications and interactions

• High degree of professionalism and ability to work with minimal supervision

• Must have demonstrated maturity in judgment

• Must be flexible, prioritize workload, and have strong attention to detail

• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels

• Ability to manage projects

• Ability to guide and assist Network Administrator I

• Ability to guide and assist Systems Administrator I

• Highly Proficient with terminal emulators

• Highly Proficient with network monitor tools (WireShark, Solarwinds, etc.)

• Expert with reading/interpreting Syslogs

• Highly Proficient with Office suite

• Highly Proficient in setting up/configuring server hardware and software
